Business Claim Procuders- AIG

Casualty
1. Public Liability/Comprehensive General Liability
Claims Procedures
Upon receipt of a claim or possible claim from the third party, to notify AIG General Insurance with the following basic information:
Description and extent of loss/injury suffered by third party
Date of loss/accident
Location
Any demand made by third party either verbal or written
Details of policy involved
Insured shall not in any circumstances admit the claim, make an offer, promise or payment to a third party without prior written consent from Insurer.
Claim from third party
Insured must immediately forward to Insurer any letter of demand or legal proceedings received from the third party.
Acknowledge receipt of the letter of demand and advise the third party's solicitors that Insurer has been notified and will be investigating the loss on a without prejudice basis.
If legal action is brought against Insured, Insurer will appoint solicitors to defend the insured pending determination of policy liability to protect insurer's interests. If investigations disclose that there is no policy liability, insured will take over conduct of the defence from insurer.
In any circumstances, the Insured shall not admit liability or enter into any negotiation with the third party or their solicitors without insurer's written consent.

2. Product Liability
Claims Procedures
Upon receipt of a claim or possible claim from a third party, to notify AIG General Insurance with the following basic information:

3. Employer's Liability
Claims Procedures
Upon receipt of a claim or possible claim from an employee, to notify AIG General Insurance with the following basic information:
Description and extent of loss/injury suffered by employee

Insured shall not in any circumstances admit the claim, make an offer, promise or payment to an employee without prior written consent from Insurer.

4. Workmen's Compensation
Claims Procedures
Upon receipt of a claim from an employee, to notify AIG General Insurance enclosing the following documents:

Completed Claim Form (a clear description of how accident happened must be stated)
Medical Certificate Form completed by the attending doctor
Original Medical Sick Leave Certificates
Copy of Medical Report
Copy of Police Report, if any
Salary voucher 6 months prior to accident
Original medical receipts
Photographs of injury sustained, if available
Letter from Insured that injured worker is under their employment
Insured shall not in any circumstances admit the claim, make an offer, promise or payment to an employee without prior written consent from Insurer
Engineering
1. Boiler and Pressure Vessel / Machinery Breakdown Claim
Claims Procedures
Notify us immediately giving details such as nature and extent of loss or damage
Take all reasonable measures to mitigate loss or damage
Not to dispose of the damaged property and if possible, take photographs
Cooperate and provide assistance to the Adjusters
Documents Required
Completed Claim Form
Written Statement of Claim detailing the property damaged
Purchase invoices/delivery orders
Technical/Damage Report on extent of damage (when requested)
Estimate of scope of repair and/or replacement and detailed breakdown of cost for this
Any additional information and documentary evidence as may be required by us or appointed Adjusters
2. Contractor's All Risks / Erection All Risks Claim
Claims Procedures
Notify us immediately giving details such as nature and extent of loss or damage
Take all reasonable measures to mitigate loss or damage
Report to police authorities immediately in case of loss due to theft or burglary
Not to dispose of the damaged property and if possible, take photographs
Cooperate and provide assistance to the Adjusters
Documents Required
Completed Claim Form
Written Statement of Claim detailing the property lost or damaged
Purchase invoices/delivery orders
Technical/Damage Report on extent of damage (when requested)

3. Electronic Equipment Claim
Claims Procedures
Notify us immediately giving details such as nature and extent of loss or damage
Take all reasonable measures within power to mitigate loss or damage
Report to police authorities immediately in case of loss due to theft or burglary
Do not dispose off the damaged property and if possible, take photographs
Cooperate and provide assistance to appointed Adjusters

Financial Lines
Claims Procedures
Upon receipt of a claim or possible claim against the insureds, notify AIG General Insurance with the following basic information:
Description and extent of loss suffered by Claimant
Date of loss
Any demand letter from the claimant
Details of policy involved
Insured shall not in any circumstances admit the claim, make an offer, promise or payment to the Claimant without prior written consent from Insurer.
Insured/brokers shall immediately forward to Insurer any letter of demand or legal proceedings received from the Claimant.
Acknowledge receipt of the letter of demand and advise the Claimant's solicitors that Insurer has been notified and will be investigating the loss on a without prejudice basis.
If legal action is brought against Insured, Insured will appoint solicitors with the consent of Insurer to defend them pending determination of policy liability.
In any circumstances, the Insured shall not admit liability or enter into any negotiation with the Claimant or his/her/their solicitors without insurer's written consent.

Police Report (Fidelity Guarantee & Professional Indemnity)
All cause papers i.e. writ of summons, statement of claim, statement of defence etc.
Letter of demand from Claimant
Any additional information and documentary evidence as may be required by us or our adjusters
Upon receipt of all relevant documents / information, a review and assessment of the said claim will be done and we will advise on policy coverage via a formal letter. If we are not able to confirm policy coverage at this stage, we would then advise of next course of action.
Marine Cargo
Claims Procedures
Notify AIG General Insurance personnel/Agent immediately upon discovering the loss/damage. Please make available preliminary documents/information for opening of claim file:
Insurance Policy/Certificate
Invoice
Bill of Lading/Airwaybill
Estimated loss amount, if any.
For cargo damage or pilferage claims up to RM3,000.00 survey is not mandatory.
For those claims above RM3,000.00, AIG General Insurance will decide on appointment of Surveyor.
For Partial Loss
As soon as loss or damage is found, take exceptions (remarks) on the delivery record or other documents to file a claim against responsible parties.
Take photographs of the damaged goods including the internal and external packing material.
Documents Required
1. Claim Bill
2. Original Insurance Policy/Certificate or copy of Monthly Declaration
3. Invoice (if not submitted earlier)
4. Packing List
5. 2nd or 3rd Original Bill of Lading/Airwaybill with terms and conditions on reverse side
6. Photos (when necessary to support evidence of damage)
7. Letters to the Carrier, Port Authority and Forwarding Agent and their replies.
Note: Additional documents might be required depending on the type of loss.
For Total Loss
When cargoes sustain total damage on board during the ocean transportation (e.g. sinking without any possibility of salvage, burnt and such like)
Documents needed:
In additional to Items 1 to 7 as stated above, we also need the following documents:
Bill of Lading (all the negotiable sets to be submitted)
Survey Report issued by the Shipping Company, if any.
Certificate of Total Loss by Shipping Company
Property
1. Burglary / All Risks / Equipment All Risks / Money / Plate Glass Claim
Claims Procedures
Notify us immediately giving details such as nature and extent of loss or damage
Take all reasonable measures to mitigate loss or damage
Not to dispose of the damaged property and if possible, take photographs
Cooperate and provide assistance to the Adjusters

Written Statement of Claim detailing the property damaged
Police Report(if loss is caused by fire or burglary)
Fire and Rescue Services Department report ( if loss or damage is by fire)
Estimate of the cost of repair to the building and/or properties insured
Purchase invoices/receipts/valuation reports in respect of the damaged items
Stock records, accounting records, sales invoices, delivery orders, return inwards, bank statements, as appropriate to quantify the loss or damage
Any additional information and documentary evidence as may be required by us or appointed Adjusters
2. Fire Claim
Insured To Do
Give immediate notice to us by telephone
Immediately notify the relevant authorities such as Fire Brigade, Police
Take all reasonable measures to minimize the extent of loss or damage
Cooperate with appointed Adjusters when called upon

Written Statement of Claim detailing the property damaged
Police Report
Fire and Rescue Services Department report
Estimate of the cost of repair to the building and/or properties insured
Purchase invoices/receipts/valuation reports in respect of the damaged items
Stock records, delivery orders as appropriate to quantify the loss or damage
Any additional information and documentary evidence as may be required by us or appointed Adjusters
3. Fire Business Interruption Claim
Insured To Do
Please refer to Fire claims procedure/guideline above. This claim will only materialise if the material damage claim is payable (exception: policy with waiver of Material Damage Proviso Clause).

Written Statement of Claim detailing the claim
Production records
Manufacturing, trading, profit and loss accounts
Furnish all information and documentary evidence as required by us or appointed Adjusters
4. Property Terrorism Claim
Insured To Do
Give immediate notice to us by telephone
Immediately notify the relevant authorities such as Fire Brigade, Police
Take all reasonable measures to minimize the extent of loss or damage
Cooperate with us or appointed Adjusters

Written Statement of Claim detailing the property damaged
